    Khalid is always preoccupied with his next project. With his plethora of skills, he constructed what we see today as The Artist Lounge. He has managed a wide range of establishments internationally, including restaurants, coffee shops, and even an escape room. With a cheerfulness that can brighten a room, he is a stellar host and bartender. Undoubtedly, with such a creative mindset, be sure to expect exciting new events and exclusive cocktails.

  • Trent Bochek

    Trent Bochek - Executive Chef

    Always learning, ambitious, creative, innovative

    Trent brings to us, with his two decades of experience working in the kitchen, a series of tapas plates inspired by the rotating artwork in the Ruberto Ostberg Gallery. His menus draw inspiration from a variety of cultures. Trent is always learning new techniques, bringing a broad spectrum of nourishment to his dishes. Trent wants to share his love of cooking with a diverse set of palates. Don’t let his quiet personality fool you, because his personality shines through his work.

  • Anna Ostberg - Proprietor/Event Coordinator

    You will see Anna buzzing around The Artist Lounge encouraging everyone to walk around, and take in the gallery exhibition. She is always happy to share tidbits on the artists, the history of the gallery and how the lounge came to be. As the Events Coordinator for The Artist Lounge, she can customize any event you desire, large or small. The Artist Lounge is nested within the Ruberto Ostberg Gallery, Anna has been the Proprietor, Art Director and Curator of the Ruberto Ostberg Gallery for the past 18 years. She is also a successful Calgary based artist and instructor. Look for her artwork in the gallery, every November.

  • Mitch Ostberg - Proprietor/Maintenance

    Mitch is a team player. He and Anna have been a team in business and in life for the past 40 years. Mitch is happy to help. From regular building maintenance to ironing napkins, Mitch will step in whenever he is needed. When Mitch is not at The Artist Lounge, he is at the University of Calgary, where he has been the Head Coach of the wrestling program for the past 3 decades. Some of his highlights have been coaching at the Athens and Tokyo Olympic Games and cheering on Olympic gold medal athletes from his program.
